We do not take insurance at this time. Honestly, most insurance does not cover massage or covers it so poorly that it is not worth the time and effort to try to work with them. Instead, we charge a reasonable flat, hourly rate and pour our energy into providing quality care. We charge $100/hour (Compared to $110 average cost for medical massage in our region). If you live within 25 miles of Canton, NC, then there is only an additional $25 housecall fee; if you live further away, then there is a $50 charge. Payment is due at the time of service. Tips are appreciated (between 10-20% is considered standard if you are curious), but not required. For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, cash. We are not able to accept Venmo, checks, or Apple Pay at this time.

No! If you have already established care with me at Family Circle Chiropractic, then I will obtain your chart from their office. However, you will need to sign a Release of Medical Records form. I can then continue treatment plan from where we left off at Family Circle.
I understand that life happens! My policy is that if you give 24 hours' notice, then you will receive a full refund. If you "no-show," without communicating with me, then you are responsible for paying for the full appointment time. I will use your card on file to process payment. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The first session is the "Initial Intake" and usually lasts about 2 hours. It includes about an hour and a half of massage and about half an hour of "getting to know you time" where we can review your case, look at any medical records you may have, and do a thorough postural analysis and muscular assessment to make sure we can tailor your care to give you the best results in a safe and effective way. Please be sure to complete your intake paperwork before your appointment!
Follow-up sessions usually vary from 60, to 90, to 120 minutes depending on your needs and preferences.
During your first appointment with me, we need to do an "Initial Intake Appointment." This appointment type allows for the time required to create your chart, review your health history, do a detailed posture analysis, and set treatment goals. After your initial intake appointment, you can schedule returning visits as needed.
Fill out the online paperwork that was emailed to you after your booked your initial appointment. This is really important, as it helps me prepare for how best to support you.
Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing that we can work through. In this kind of massage therapy that I practice, most clients typically stay fully or partially clothed. If it becomes necessary to undress to address a certain issue, then I will step outside and make sure the client has privacy and time to cover themselves appropriately with draping. I strictly adhere to the North Carolina Codes of Conduct and Ethics that all Massage Therapists are required to follow.
Currently, I am not operating out of a massage studio. Instead, I am conducting house calls for massage appointments. This mean I would come to your home, with my massage table, about 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment.
As the client, you are responsible for having a clear space for me to set up my massage table. If you are concerned about not having enough space, please contact me at painwisemassage@gmail.com, and we can figure out the details. I will arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to get set up. After the table is set up, and we have conducted our intake portion of the session, I will remove myself from the area to give you privacy while you get situated under the drape on the massage table or floor mat.
Well behaved, friendly cats and dogs are perfectly fine. Please consider whether animals should be kept in a separate space during the massage, so as to prevent interruptions or distractions. Please notify me in advance of any protective or unfriendly dogs prior to my arrival. I would ask that such dogs be kept in a separate room, behind a closed door, during the time that I am in the house. I reserve the right to cancel an appointment if I do not feel safe.
No. I have chemical sensitivities, and politely request you to be free of any and all perfumes and scents when you arrive for your massage appointment. Thank you in advance for this consideration. On this note, I use hypoallergenic, unscented products where applicable.
Yes, to help cover the travel and set-up time, there is an additional $25 fee. For areas more than 25 miles outside of Canton, NC, the fee is $50.
The home office I was planning to use does not currently mean the requirements for a licensed massage studio. I will continue to do house calls until I have a great studio option.
