Christopher Watts received his first professional massage as a birthday present at age 11, and has been passionate about bodywork ever since. He became a Licensed Massage Therapist at age 19, graduating from the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC in 2004. After graduation, Christopher went into private practice with gusto -- practicing in Western North Carolina consistently for nearly a decade. He studied a wide variety of bodywork styles in the U.S., Thailand, and India. After taking a sabbatical to deal with some health issues, start a family, and rebuild a house, Christopher was happy to return to practicing massage in 2021. Christopher continues to dive ever deeper into understanding how to better help people live in their bodies with less pain and improved functionality. His current approach centers mostly around a combination of neuromuscular (trigger point) work, myofascial release, assisted stretching, and postural reprogramming.
Outside of work, Christopher spends most of his time gardening, making things, cooking and sharing quality time with family and friends.
"My passion lies in pain reduction, reclaiming and maintaining range of motion, and improving performance and functionality. I love working with people who are engaged in their own healing process. This is not your average spa massage. If you are looking for a pleasant, relaxing experience that doesn't challenge your edge or affect much change, you are probably better off finding a nice spa to visit. While there is certainly some therapeutic benefit to be had from a massage that is primarily geared towards relaxation, I practice medical massage because I want to help people live with less pain and better function." - Christopher Watts
